Meet Our Founder, Gilda Carter

My name is Gilda Carter and I created Building Thriving Families to enhance the lives of children, teens and adults by fostering a sense of belonging within their communities. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to flourish and we're committed to providing the support and guidance needed to achieve this. We employ a strength-based approach, focusing on identifying and leveraging individual strengths to improve overall functioning and well-being. We celebrate individuality and work collaboratively with families to create personalised strategies that empower each person to reach their full potential.

Experience and Expertise

With 17 years of experience in early childhood education, I've journeyed from being a cook in childcare to a childcare educator, a full-time Early Childhood teacher and finally an Acting Director in a children's centre and a stand-alone preschool. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges and triumphs of early childhood development. I am passionate about helping individuals succeed by utilising strategies that enhance their lives, such as improving verbal and non-verbal communication skills, minimising stress in everyday experiences and understanding the importance of emotional needs and routines.
